By downloading, installing, or using the Carnatic mobile application ("App", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. YouTube Terms of Service

The Carnatic App is powered by YouTube. By using this App, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

This App uses the YouTube Data API v3 to discover and surface Carnatic music videos. All video playback is delivered through YouTube's embedded player. Your use of YouTube content within this App is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service.

You can revoke the App's access to your Google account at any time via Google Security Settings .

3. Description of Service

Carnatic is a curated discovery platform for Carnatic classical music. The App allows users to:

Browse and search curated Carnatic music videos sourced via the YouTube Data API
Watch videos using YouTube's embedded player
Create an optional account to save watch history and liked videos
Receive personalised video recommendations (signed-in users only)

The App does not host, store, or stream video content. All videos are hosted and streamed by YouTube. We serve as a curated index and discovery layer.

4. User Accounts

Creating an account is optional. If you sign in using Google:

You authorise us to receive your name and email address from Google for account creation
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@carnaticapp.org

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App to circumvent or attempt to circumvent YouTube's Terms of Service
Download, copy, or reproduce video content in violation of YouTube's terms
Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the App
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

6. Intellectual Property

All Carnatic music videos displayed within the App remain the intellectual property of their respective creators and are subject to YouTube's copyright policies. The App's curation, design, and underlying software are owned by Carnatic App.

"YouTube" is a trademark of Google LLC. "Powered by YouTube" attributions within the App are used in accordance with YouTube's Branding Guidelines .

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or completeness of any video content, as this content is served by YouTube and may be removed or become unavailable at any time without notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Carnatic App shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email (if you have an account). Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
